\"C<\/a>Este montaje ha sido editado, dise\u00f1ado (maquillaje) e interpretado por estudiantes del curso Dramatics (ILIN 154). La obra es interpretada en ingl\u00e9s isabelino, su lengua original, y solo ha sido modificada para acortarla. La compa\u00f1\u00eda decidi\u00f3 hacer un reverso de g\u00e9nero con los personajes originales para hacerlos calzar con el n\u00famero de actores masculino y femenino; por lo tanto, los personajes que eran personificados originalmente por hombres son personificados por mujeres, y viceversa.<\/p>\n

La Comedia de las Equivocaciones <\/em><\/strong>tiene una trama simple: Antiphola de Siracusa (Sicilia) est\u00e1 buscando a su hermana gemela perdida, Antiphola de \u00c9feso (Turqu\u00eda). Como se puede observar, \u00a0debido a la ingenuidad de sus padres, ambas hermanas llevan el mismo nombre: Antiphola. Una sirvienta acompa\u00f1a a cada una de las Antipholas, y las sirvientas casualmente tambi\u00e9n tienen el mismo nombre: Dromia. Antiphola de Siracusa creci\u00f3 con su madre, Aegeone, pero cuando lleg\u00f3 a la adultez se aventur\u00f3 a recorrer el mundo en la b\u00fasqueda de su hermana. De esto han pasado 7 a\u00f1os, por lo que Aegeone ha salido en su b\u00fasqueda. Ambas llegan por separado a \u00c9feso, donde la otra Antiphola y la otra Dromia, por una de esas casualidades de la vida, viven. Sin embargo, tan pronto como Aegone llega la ciudad es condenada a muerte por la Duquesa de \u00c9feso, Solinusa, debido a que tambi\u00e9n da la casualidad de que existe una rivalidad intestina entre ambas ciudades.<\/p>\n

Sin pol\u00edtica ni guerra involucrada en la trama \u2013 s\u00f3lo las anticuadas bufonadas humor de la comedia. Todos confunden una Antiphola con la otra. Incluso las mismas Antipholas no son capaces de distinguir a sus propias Dromias. Las confusiones se van agrandando a lo largo de la obra hasta llegar al acto final, en el que ambas Antipholas y ambas Dromias finalmente se encuentran. La familia entera es reunida, y todos viven felices para siempre.<\/p>\n

The Comedy of Errors by William Shakespeare<\/b><\/p>\n

A Performance by the Dramatics\u2019 Company<\/b><\/p>\n

This play has been edited, designed and performed entirely by the students of the Dramatics (ILIN 154) course of the English Teacher Training Programme of UACh. The play is performed in its original Elizabethan language, and has only been adapted in order to make it shorter. The company decided to switch the original gender of the characters in order to fit the number of male and female actors; therefore, the characters that were performed by men in the original are performed by women, and vice versa.<\/p>\n

The Comedy of Errors <\/strong><\/em>has a simple plot: Antiphola of Syracuse (Sicilia) is looking for her long-lost twin sister Antiphola of Ephesus (Turkey). As you can notice, through a quirk of parental ingenuity, both twins have the same name: Antiphola. Each Antiphola is accompanied by a servant, and the servants also happen to be twins and happen to have the same name, Dromia. Antiphola of Syracuse grew up with her mother, Aegeone, but upon reaching adulthood ventured into the world to seek her sister. She has been gone for seven years, and now Aegeone is looking for her. They arrive separately in Ephesus, where the other Antiphola and Dromia just happen to live. But Aegone is condemned to death by Solinusa, the Duchess of the city of Ephesus which also happens to have an in intestine rivalry with Syracuse.<\/p>\n

No politics, no wars \u2013 just good old-fashioned slapstick humour. Everyone mistakes one Antiphola for the other. Even the Antipholas can\u2019t tell their Dromias apart. The confusion builds throughout the play until the final act, when the two Antipholas and Dromias finally meet each other. The entire family is reunited, and everyone lives happily ever after.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
